Nintendo’s newest console, the Nintendo Switch, is different from all the other consoles ever made. It’s optimised for using it at home and on the go. It very simple: do you want to play it on your TV? Just set it in the dock and within a few seconds, you can play on your TV from where you left. Do you want to play in handheld mode? Simply take it out of the dock and play! It’s never been so easy in my thoughts.
What’s inside the box?
If you buy the Nintendo Switch, this is what you get:
- The Nintendo Switch console (the screen)
- 2 Joy-Con controllers (left and right)
- Joy-Con wrist straps (the things that you can slide on your Joy-Con controllers if you want to play it apart from the console for better grip and more safety)
- The Joy-Con Grip, where you can slide the Joy-Cons in for a “controller” feel
- The Nintendo Switch Dock, where you can slide the Nintendo Switch in for playing on the TV
- An HDMI cable
- and an A/C adaptor
The Joy-Cons and the Grip
I personally think that it is a bit silly that the Joy-Con Grip not charges your Joy-Cons, but you can buy one that does charges the Joy-Cons (this one). Not that you need one, I think. The Joy-Cons can have 20 hours of battery life, which is actually pretty good. If you just slice them back on the Nintendo Switch console, they charges. So if you put them on the Switch when you’re asleep, it will be fine, trust me.
For people with big hands, the Joy-Cons can feel a little small, but some don’t mind it either. For more comfort, you can buy these.
For the ones who plan to play a lot (and on the TV), you can buy a Pro Controller. This feels a lot more comfortable and you can play more accurate with it.
The console itself
The Nintendo Switch looks pretty good if you play games on it. Yes, it’s 720p, but because the screen isn’t that big, it doesn’t matter anyway. If you want to protect the screen, you can buy a screen protector. This one is a glass screen protector, and you get 2 screen protectors in the pack for only $8.99.
A travel case where you can put in your Switch can be handy. So you can keep it nice and safe. This case cost only $19.99. There is also a Breath Of The Wild one! Isn’t that awesome?
It’s kinda annoying that you charges the Switch on the bottom, because then you can’t use the kickstand… You can buy a stand to overcome this problem. This one has a gap for charging.
